Due to current financial restraints in the home furnishings world I sometimes (okay almost always) have to take my own photos of my design work. With the current Charleston Show House I am participating in, all the designers kicked in to hire Chris Smith of Chris & Cami Photography;¬†following are just a few of his gorgeous photos. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Its been way too long since I’ve used a professional photographer. In Los Angeles my friend Jonathan of Jonathan Alcorn Photography shoots my jobs. So, after seeing these photos from Chris and looking at my work with Jonathan, I will no longer be shooting my own work. As a designer, I am always telling people why they should hire a designer instead of doing it themselves. I will continue to snap away with my little camera for photos of my daughters, even use my own photos for our Christmas card (if I actually ever get one out), but I will be leaving the professional photos for the professionals.

To see the difference, scroll down to my previous post that has my photos.

WE’RE ALMOST THERE!

March 6, 2010

Shortly after finishing up Hampden Clothing in November, we signed on to participate in the Charleston Symphony League Show House. Hence, no blog posts since. But we are almost there, we just hang the draperies and accessorize next week and we’ll be good to go. We hope you can make it, this year there are two gorgeous homes to tour; The Sitting Room designed The Office, up stairs in the 120 S. Battery house.

The Show House runs from March 18th – April 18th, open daily from 10AM – 4PM. Click here to link to the CSOL website for more information or to buy tickets.
